“Privacy,” “Tolerance,” Abortion and the Left

Liberal Christians and the political left, among many other reasons, use “privacy” and “tolerance” as two of their favorite reasons for supporting abortion.  Of course, both privacy and tolerance are used according to their understanding of these two words, even-though their definition is peculiar to them and not related to the true meaning of each word.

Let’s look at how they use these two terms:  “Privacy” was used by the Supreme Court in the famous Roe v. Wade decision of 1973.  According to liberals, including the Supreme Court, and the political left, “privacy” is sacred to them, so a woman can kill her unborn in the womb because of “privacy.”   Let’s see if this squares with logic and common sense.

Recently, the San Francisco political leaders ruled that they will not allow any soft drinks on city property, so you are not allowed to buy a coke or a Pepsi because according to these people you don’t have the right to drink a soft drink if you want – they know what is good for you whether you like it or not. So let’s see.  I have the right to privacy in killing an unborn in the womb, a human being, but do not have the right to privacy to drink a coke.  I’m scratching my head.  What is wrong with this picture?

Second, in the national political scene, when it comes to wiretapping terrorist, for instance, the political left says that we do not have the right to tap a phone if we believe that you may be a terrorist intent on killing innocent people.  Liberals scream bloody murder and rant and rave about liberty and privacy rights when it comes to such things, yet they believe that they can legislate how you raise your kids and what they can drink or eat.  In another insane attempt recently, the political left was talking about regulating what restaurants serve to you.  In other words, you do not have the right to privacy in what you eat, but you the have the right to privacy to kill a human being.

“Tolerance” is another holy right to the left.  They claim that they are the most tolerant people on earth.  Really?  Let’s see, it seems to me that if you believe in the Bible and specifically that homosexuality is an abomination as it states in Leviticus 18:22, you are guilty of hate speech as a Professor was and fired for stating that he believes what the Catholic Church teaches about homosexuality.  Or, how about if you are a conservative, try finding a job in a mass media newsroom or a university.  How about trying to get a job as a biology teacher if you have ever stated that Intelligent Design is a legitimate scientific theory and should be taught along with Darwinism?
